Create an Event Post

Event posts give visitors detailed information about a particular event. They can include a featured image, galleries and a detailed description of the event.

Create an Event Post

  1. At the top of the dashboard, click +New and select Event from the drop-down menu.
  2. Under Add New Post, add a Title (this is the name of your event).
  3. Type (or paste, using the paste as plain text option) a description of the event into the Content Editor.
  4. Write an Excerpt, a short summary of the event that will be displayed with the featured image on the upcoming events page.
  5. Enter the Event Info, including the date and time, location and recurrence (recurrence only if applicable).
  6. (optional) Add a Featured Image, which will show up on the event detail post and as a thumbnail on the upcoming events page. Refer to the user’s guide for image sizes when selecting featured images.
  7. Click Save Draft or Publish. Repeat these steps for each event.
